If you just want to download playr without having to install an application server, such as tomcat, we have provided a simple double-clickable version of playr, called PlayrDE (Playr Desktop Edition) which can be used from your desktop without the need for an internet connection.

Java 1.5.0 or later - download from Sun's Java site

[edit] Download PlayrDE

Download PlayrDE from here. If you are using a Mac running OSX you can download the .dmg file to get a properly packaged version of PlayrDE. Otherwise, download the .zip file and unzip it.

Just double click on PlayrDE.jar (or PlayrDE.app on OSX) to start it.
